SDET Java Smart Card

We are looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in Java Card OS, Global Platform (GP), and smart card technologies. The role involves designing, developing, and automating test frameworks and test suites for payment and electronic ID applications built on Java Card and Global Platform specifications. The candidate should have strong technical understanding of smart card standards and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Developers, and Architects. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Analyze technical specifications (Java Card, Global Platform, EMV, etc.) to design test scenarios • Design, develop, and maintain reusable test frameworks, libraries, and automation suites • Perform test design, test development, and automation for smart card OS and applications • Conduct failure analysis, root cause identification, and defect reporting • Review system-level verification reports and ensure quality compliance • Work closely with Product Owners to understand functional and non-functional requirements • Participate in effort estimation and technical risk identification • Own review activities for test design, test code, validation plans, and reports • Continuously improve testing processes and share technical knowledge with the team

Required Skills & Experience • 2–6 years of experience in smart card product/system validation across SDLC • Strong programming skills in Java or C# • Hands-on experience in test design, development, and automation • Strong problem-solving and test case design skills • Experience with source control tools such as Git, Gerrit, or Bitbucket • Good written and verbal communication skills • Experience in requirement analysis and test planning ________________________________________ Nice to Have Skills • Knowledge of Java Card programming • Scripting experience in Python • Understanding of standards: o ISO 7816 o ISO 14443 o Global Platform o Java Card specifications • Exposure to smart card OS applications such as ePassport, payment applications • Basic understanding of EMV, Mastercard, Discover, Visa, Amex specifications • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments ________________________________________ Behavioural Competencies • Customer focus and quality mindset • Strong collaboration and teamwork • Trust and respect for peers and stakeholders • Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement • Innovative thinking and proactive problem solving
