Research Analyst – Agri Commodities

Role Overview: We are seeking an intermediate-level Research Analyst with hands-on experience in data analytics, trade flow analysis, and visualization tools. The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of Power BI, Python, and basic statistical tools, with a strong preference for candidates from an Agri-commodity or trading background. Key Responsibilities: • Use statistical and analytical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns in complex datasets for forecasting and decision-making. • Assign and track key numerical metrics to evaluate business and trading performance over time. • Analyze local, regional, and global market trends impacting agri-commodity supply, demand, and trade flows. • Develop dashboards and visual reports using Power BI to support real-time decision-making. • Work closely with trading, processing, finance, and management teams to identify trading opportunities and operational improvements. • Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and insights. • Apply data modeling techniques to summarize and interpret large datasets effectively. • Extract and manage data from multiple sources (trade databases, internal systems, third-party providers). • Clean, validate, and maintain data integrity by identifying errors, inconsistencies, and gaps. • Build and maintain structured databases and data systems for efficient reporting. • Prepare concise reports and presentations highlighting key insights, risks, and opportunities. • Monitor performance indicators and flag deviations or data issues proactively. Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field . • 1–2 years of relevant experience in data analysis / commodity research. • Proficiency in Power BI (dashboarding & visualization). • Working knowledge of Python (Pandas, NumPy, basic scripting). • Strong understanding of trade flow data (import/export, logistics, pricing trends). • Experience with tools such as Excel (advanced), SQL (basic preferred). • Exposure to Agri-commodity markets (e.g., sesame, soybean, grains) is highly preferred. • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. Preferred Profile: • Experience working with global commodity trade data platforms (e.g., Export Genius, trade databases, shipping data) • Understanding of supply-demand frameworks and price drivers • Familiarity with freight, logistics, and port-level data analysis Other Requirements: • Basic awareness of Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety standards • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
